Create a Mars match and enroll players

In this article, you will learn how to create a match in Mars, configure its settings, and enroll players.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you:

  • Have administrator permissions in Mars.
  • Have the players who will participate in the match available.
  • Have a document ready if you want to generate questions using AI.

Create a Mars match

To create a new MARS match, follow these steps:

  1. From the main menu, go to Mars > Matches.
  2. Here, you can view all existing matches, manage their settings, and create a new one.
  3. Click the Create game button. If you haven't created any matches yet, you'll find the Create game button in the center of the screen.
  4. Complete all the required fields to continue with the match creation.
  5. Next, configure the required match settings:
  • Start date
  • Session information

You can also configure the following options:

  • Federations:
    • Disabled: no federations are created.
    • Automatic: each player is randomly assigned to a federation. You can choose the number of federations you want to create.
    • Manual: at the beginning of the game, players can choose which federation they want to join, following their manager’s instructions.

Important note: it is not possible to manually assign students to a federation from Admin. Once a federation has been selected in the game, it cannot be changed.

  • Leaderboard visibility: for more information, see Game Gamification and Leaderboard.
  • No-game days (if applicable): you can select specific days in the calendar during which users will not be able to access the game and no sessions will be active.

Important note: if you need a configuration that is not available, please contact your Account Manager.

Enroll players in a Mars match

To enroll players, go to the Enrollments section.

You can add participants using either:

  • A CSV file.
  • The player upload table.

Once the upload is complete, verify that all players have been added correctly.

Important note: all players in the same match must use the same language, as the questions will only be displayed in that language.
